Christmas parade

We went to the Christmas parade Sunday afternoon. The kids had a blast. They came home with bags of beads and treasures. Emory thinks everyday is the day Santa is coming so this just encouraged that thinking.

Chapin really wanted to try this thing. He was bouncing on a super bouncy trampoline like thing with these bungee cords attached to his waist. He thought it was super cool! The mall is two stories and his feet were over the the sign on the 2nd floor. I have no idea how he can do these things fine but gets so car sick so easy!

Houston Zoo

We had fun at the zoo. Emory has some strange ideas right now about what is "scary". His favorite things were the snakes and alligators. He was scared of the elephants, he kept saying they were going to get us. I think he was concerned because you can't really see the cages for elephants so it does look like they could just keep walking.

Astros Game

Geoff and Chapin went to two games. Me and Emory went the first day but let them go alone the second day. They arrived early to watch batting practice and to try and get some autographs. Chapin was thrilled to have Josh Hamilton sign his baseball. He won the home run derby last year and he is one of Chapin's favorite player.

Mardi Gras Floats

Chapin has to make a Mardi Gras float from a shoe box for a school project. I decide it would go much smoother if Emory had a box to paint and glue also. I kept reminding Emory not to touch Chapin's box and they we only work on our own box. At some point I touched Emory's box and he told me to get my own box. Stayed tuned for more float progress.

zoo

The zoo has an amazing new playground. We met our friends there to play last weekend. The big kids don't get to see each other often since they are in school so they really had fun being together.

Sound of the letter F

Chapin's class a party Friday afternoon to celebrate the sound of the letter F. I had to send him some fabulous funny footwear to wear so they could parade around school. They also feasted on fudge pops. Chapin said it was great. Check out his funny feathered, football, frog and fish shoes.

DISNEY!!

The Disney photos have finally been added to the blog. We took about 800 so it took some time to sort them all out.

We told the kids we were going Christmas morning while we were watching the Disney Christmas Parade. Chapin was sooooooo excited.

We had a great trip. Emory did better than I would have every expected. He warmed up to the characters quick. He asks every morning now -- "I go to Disney World today?" Chapin wants us to go back for his birthday (in April).
